Who knew . . . I would be come a rubik's cube master?
Well almost. I have been learning how to solve the rubik's cube since March and today I successfully solved the puzzle without looking at the book or asking for help. I think there was a little luck involved because the last steps are so confusing I never get them right so I have more practicing to do but I needed to celebrate this victory.
What would motivate me to master this puzzle? My brother in-law teases that a girl with Rubik's cube skills is really attractive to guys. I am not so sure about that one, but I guess it couldn't hurt my chances. Actually my friend Kirsten is practicing so she can solve it faster than her brother when he returns home from his mission so I decided to take the opportunity and learn from her.
I have a little more practicing to make sure I can really solve it and then I am going to break it into pieces because I am curious to know what is inside and how it works. Wanna know why I TOTALLY know what the inside of a rubik's cube looks like? Because if you take it apart, you can put it back together solved and not have to look at a book or ask ANY questions. How's that for solving a tough puzzle? I just can't figure out how to do the same thing with people at work....
Congrats! I became a Rubik's cube guru on my mission, then came home and taught my brother, Daniel, and now he's the MASTER.
