Hit by a truck

Who knew . . . what it felt like to get hit by a moving truck?

I woke up this morning and felt like I had been hit by a moving truck.  For all of you that are into sharing great recipes via your blogs I thought I would follow suit.  If you want to know how to recreate this same feeling I felt, here is the recipe:

2 weeks of apartment hunting
1 week of mental packing
7 hours of last minute packing from 6pm to 1am on Friday night
1 Angus burger and fries from McDonalds for dinner
5 hours of sleep
1 Uhaul cargo van
14 amazing friends
3 bookshelves
3 beds
2 dressers
1 kitchen table
2 couches
1 glass coffee table
1 tv from 1995
1 bench
way too many bags of clothes, shoes, bedding and other items
10 hours of constant movement
3 flights of stairs down
5 flights of stairs up
5 trips between apartments
1 run to a storage unit on W44 st
1 delivery in Harlem
1 stop to a gas station
1 really nice Uhaul employee that didn't charge me for returning the van 1.5 hours late and forgetting some of the moving blankets.
1 subway sandwich for dinner
1 hour of moving piles of bags and boxes just so I could put my bed together
4 more hours of unpacking
1/2 a cold, I feel one coming on
Sniffing fumes of a freshly painted apartment
8 hours of sleep in a new strange room all to myself (weird after sharing a room for 2 years)
1 hangnail that hurts so much I have considered amputation of the entire finger

Combine ingredients, sell 2 couches that same day, stir well and ta - da you have moved yourself, a roommate and an apartment full of furniture 10 blocks South and 1.5 Avenues West.  Trust me when you wake up the next morning you feel what I think it feels like to be hit by a moving truck.

Email me if you want my new address.  Pictures of the new place coming soon (soon = few days when I have recovered).
