Who knew . . . I love skiing so much?
I do. I love it. I am in love with skiing. My love has developed over the years from the first time I slid down our front yard in CT with a pair of rental skiis my brother had from a boyscout trip to now when I plan my winter vacation days around ski trips and in between now and then family ski vacations, school in ID and UT, classes at Targhee and teaching at Alpetnal has only increased my love for skiing. In fact, I decided the other day that if I ever feel the same about a guy as a I do about skiing then I would know I was truly in love. Okay that may be a little much but still I love skiing.

It makes me happy. Even when conditions aren't great I am still happy. When conditions are great I am even happier. It doesn't matter who I am skiing with or where I am skiing I am happy. It can be a day of full of groomers or getting lost off trail, in the tees or out in open bowls, it doesn't matter, I am happy.

Living in New York makes for a long distance relationship with skiing but I am committed to making it work. In the middle of February I went skiing with a new ski friend Georgina and then in the middle of March I made the journey out to Driggs, ID to visit my friend Melissa and ski with her at Targhee and Jackson Hole. I am sad to say my ski boots are packed away for the season but I am glad that I was able to make a few turns this winter and while I am enjoying my time in Manhattan I look forward to the days when I move back west where my heart will be nice and happy living near great skiing. Now if only I can figure out how to make a nice little living for myself while getting in as much skiing as possible. Hmmmm?!?!
Who says kids cramp your style? Check this out. Yes that is a baby in a baby bjorn zipped up under neath his stripped sweatshirt. Yes it gets better. That little baby has a ski hat and ski googles on in addition to her pacifier. And yes that father is pulling his other daughter on skis with his snowboard. I love it. I am not one to take stalker pictures but saw this and couldn't get enough. I thought this was so cool.

Oh, you must be distantly related to my husband somehow (as you can tell from our blog)! Come to Utah soon and maybe you can get some more skiing in! We have too much snow still!
It makes me sad that you don't live as close the good snow and skiing too. I loved this post and the pictures. That guy with his two kids in tow...pretty amazing. That's gonna be you someday!
K, that stalker picture is hilarious!
When are you going to take me to the bunny hill?? I still need to learn how to ski...
