Liberty and Justice for All

Who knew . . . I would have to plan so far in advance to visit this lady?
I have been here 3.5 years, it is time that I pay her a visit. Apparently she is quite popular and I am quite busy because I finally got around to booking two tickets to visit this lady pictured above on November 6th at 9am. We have met before and I have hazy memories of climbing the spiral staircase to reach the crown. But all I can remember is that my parents insisted we get there really early to avoid lines and that the climb up to the crown was scary and made me dizzy. I can't wait to go back and see if I still agree with my 8 year old self. And obviously I have taken a lesson or two from my parents and shceduled my trip so I would be the first boat to leave New York.
Mark your calendar and stay tuned because there will certainly be a blog post on this adventure. I am going to ask her if her arm ever gets tired from holding up that torch and I will let you know what I find out.
PS - Lady Liberty was sculpted to look like the artists mother named Charolette.
