Run Stephanie Run!

Who knew . . . it would only be a year until I started training again?

That's right. Remember this and this? I am back at it again. A couple of months ago I decided to enter the lottery for the St. George Marathon for fun. I didn't expect to get selected to run so when I did I was quite surprised and a little shocked. And now the time has come (and technically a few weeks have already passed) to start training again and I am back at it with a new resolve to be more disciplined in my training.

What is my training plan you ask? It consists of long runs on Saturday mornings and an increase in the the rate of mid week training in comparison from last year (won't be hard as I hardly trained during the weeks last time so anything is an improvement). More stretching and and less hamburgers and fries until after the race.

Even though I have already missed 3 weeks of a 16 week training plan I jumped right in this past weekend and feel pretty good so far. Below are two of my most recent runs.

Saturday I ran from home to Battery Park - 7.64 miles


Tonight I set out to run 3 miles and kept running
only to come home and map it to find out I ran 5.5 miles.


This is just the start as I estimate I have about 363 miles left to run until the marathon. My goal is to run the race in under 4 hours. For some people that is fast and for others that is slow and for some this would be a miracle as I know running isn't for everyone. For me that is ideal! Let the fun continue.
