Not me, in fact I hadn't given it any thought until I was drifting off to sleep and realized I had just celebrated my 1 year (to the very day) anniversary of moving to New York. I reflected back on how I spent my day.
6:30 am rolled out of bed
7:30 am bundled up and left my warm apartment to start my commute to work in 25degree weather
8:00 am arrived at work and started in on a few emails and shuffled around a few piles of papers
10:00 am took a field trip to visit a potential event site
1:00 pm wandered down to the cafe for a salad to eat at my desk
5:00 pm took a short break and then found motivation to conquer a project that needed some time and attention.
9:30 pm after realizing I had lost track of time and realizing the cleaning crew had already finished cleaning our end of the office building I decided it was time to go home (side note: I usually don't work this late and yes I made a lot of progress on the project). On the way out I called a friend and ended up walking the entire way home just to finish catching up (45 blocks and 7 avenues = 2.45 miles = $12 cab ride = 30 minute subway ride). I have never walked the entire distance in one shot and have been meaning to do so but just didn't think it would be in mid February at 10pm.
10:30 pm arrived home and was too tired to figure out what to eat for dinner so I skipped it and went right to dessert. That cupcake was delicious.
11:00 pm read my book and went to bed
Public transportation, cold winter temperatures, long work hours, and cupcakes for dinner - Sounds about right. Being a tourist is a lot more fun but yet living here affords many adventures and experiences a tourist will never enjoy.
I can't wait to find out what year 2 holds in store for me!

That sounds like a great vacation day. I need to come visit you on a three day week end and see the sites sometime that would be a blast maybe next year when I could leave the kids. And if you would be nice enough to show me around.
As for you 1 year anniversary. I am glad you had some cake.
Stephanie, you are my friend and I love you but you can't just throw around the word "cupcake" like that's good enough! I need to know what KIND of cupcake and from WHERE. All cupcakes are not created equal. Please, help a sister out.
E is right. I apologize for leaving out cupcake details. This was a vanilla with white chocolate chunks and lots of soft cream cheese frosting. It was homemade by a friend of mine.
