Megan M. invited Kirsten and I on a day trip to Philly to visit the most famous flower show according to her book "1,000 Places to See Before you Die". I was on the fence about going until she said we could stop for authentic Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. "Now your talking. Count me in" might very well have been my response.
After driving a little over an hour in the pouring rain we got down to business. First thing was first, we stopped for lunch. We selected Jim's Steaks from a list of recommended places and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was small and greasy and spared no expense on decor. Then again that is more often than not the description of some of the best restaurants in NY so I didn't notice too much. The sandwiches were GOOD!
Kirsten and I waisted no time in getting started on our sandwiches.
And it appears we didn't waste any time getting ready that morning either.
(sorry Kirsten but this is not the best picture of either one of us, it's the only one I have)
When we arrived at the show, the traffic and the full parking garages were our first sign the place was going to be packed but we had come too far to let this stop us. When we walked into the convention center we were amazed at the oversized displays of flowers and the live music. The next thing I noticed was that the walls of the center were lined with chairs, many of which were occupied by people who looked worn out and beat. I thought it was odd. Little did I know that two hours later I would have paid good money to sit in one of those chairs. Between walking through the crowds, taking tons of pictures, eating milkshakes, and laughing our heads off at some of the weird displays and shops at the show we wore our selves out and left exhausted.
There were tons of flowers and displays and tons of people taking pictures of the flowers and displays. But my most favorite picture I took that day was not of a flower or a display. It was of Megan.
Well if you read this entire post just see pictures of flowers then you are in luck. Here are a few of the flowers without having to battle the crowds. Enjoy!

By the way- I got your message the other night, but it didn't show up until midnight my time- what's up with that? Weird. Did you get the brownies figured out?
