It was a lot of fun having Mel here for a visit last weekend. We were able to explore many of the neighborhoods, shops, boutiques, a few bakeries and lots of new places. I think I walked around more in two days then I have walked in the last year. We wandered through Midtown, Time Square, Nolita, Upper East Side, Mid Town, Greenwich Village, Union Square, Downtown, Soho, Upper West Side, and the list goes on to even include a little of Brooklyn.
Here are a few things Mel and I discovered:
- It is possible to strike out three times when trying your hand at the Wicked ticket lottery.
- There are many parallels between shopping for black boots and dating.
- After two sips of spring blossom lemonade it tastes just like regular lemonade.
- It is easy to confuse the Empire State Building with many other tall square buildings.
- Public bathrooms are hard to come by so always plan ahead.
- I can survive 2 hours and 16 floors of the New York Design Center.
- This inside of the Guggenheim spiral is what I imagine it would be like inside a soft serve ice cream cone.
- Apparently I look like a super model to 11 year old boys on school field trips in Soho. What is up with that?
- Waiting outside in line for an hour and a half is worth the wait for the most delicious pizza in New York.
Mel, I can't wait for you to visit again!
