Favorite Movie

Who knew . . . my favorite movie (for now) would be Dan in Real Life?

I don't have favorites and struggle with the "what is your favorite" series of questions because I can't remember what I like when under pressure. Also what if I tell someone my favorite X and then later I change my mind? I know, who cares and who is keeping track and who says you can only have one favorite?

Sooooooo I am proclaiming this now so I don't forget and so I can change my mind or add to it later but I have to say that my favorite movie is Dan in Real Life.

The humor, the characters, the pace, the family, the story line, all of it, even down to the "murder of love". I remember seeing the posters on bus stations around town and had no idea what to expect and wa-la it turned out to be a great movie and now one of my very favorites.

Honorable Mention
I would also like to give honorable mention to the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. I know. I can't believe I am saying it either but earlier this year I read the book and then just found time a few weeks ago to watch the entire movie (5+ hours). I used to get bored and confused by all the characters and places and houses. But finally I took the time and now understand why girls were swooning over Mr. Darcy. This book/movie seems to either illicit like or dislike and I have to say I side with the like.

I can't forget to mention The Fugitive for the action/mystery/thriller category and Lucky 7 in the romantic comedy (I think it's because it is based in Seattle) and for the animation category I would pick Anastasia. Lastly I would have to say there is a three way tie for my favorite kids movie and that would be Annie, Bed Knobs and Broomsticks and lastly would be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the old school version).

What do you recommend I add to the list?

Uhm--- what about OVERBOARD? You can't beat Goldie! And those kids are hilarious with that totally junky house. Minus the nasty parts- that move is one of the tops on my list.

I LOVE your lists! I love all of those movies!!! Good choices...although, I have only seen part of Lucky 7. Sad days. The one time I tried to watch it, the DVD was all scratched up...

Home Alone at Christmas time and now Elf is being added to the list. You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle are classics. As well as Father of the Bride one and two. I also LOVE My Fair Lady. I could go on all night there are a lot of good classics!
