Who knew . . . my mom watches MTV?
I was walking home from work late this evening talking to my mom on the phone (actually near the same corner where I almost got married). She was telling me a story about a new show she is into watching called The Buried Life. Have you seen it? If you have you will know it's on MTV.
When I heard this I couldn't tell if the sound of squealing breaks was in my head or if it was really coming from cars on the street but I halted the conversation right there. I couldn't believe it so I had to clarify what I just heard come out of my mother's mouth, through the phone, and into my ears. Did she just say she watches MTV? What!?!?! What is going on here?
Come to find out after a few more questions, she heard a news story on NPR featuring the show and decided to check it out. It sounds like a pretty cool show but still . . . MTV? My mom watches MTV?

So I just looked it up on MTV. Episode 1 is the guys attend a party at the Playboy Mansion. Nice, mom.
that's funny. i've never seen the show but it's hard for me to picture the nice little temple worker curled up to mtv. also, my two year old daughter ate six pieces of toast today and it reminded me of the summer we lived together at ricks and i'm pretty sure you only ate toast the whole summer. a lot of it.
